NUTRITION Regarding the obvious need to create a new Cabinet Secretary for Nutrition, as well as a New Mexico Advisory Council for Nutrition, comprised of physicians and educators, please write to Lieutenant Governor Dianne Denish, who presides over the New Mexico Senate. This legislation will result in some of the strongest consumer protection statutes in the United States regarding additives, carcinogens, and neurotoxins. It is a short 30 day session, and the legislators will have time to implement changes which will protect the health of New Mexicans.” This legislation is also very much a revenue-generating plan, which will, through the recommendations of Advisory Council on Nutrition; result in suits similar to the tobacco suits of the 1990’s whose judgments exceeded $225 billion. One of the prime considerations in the legislation is removing proven and incontrovertible brain toxins, like aspartame, glutamates, and cysteic acid from foods consumed by New Mexicans, as well as one of the prime ingredients of soft drinks, phosphoric acid. The legislation will save Medicaid costs, improve medical education in New Mexico, and require instruction in health and nutrition for New Mexico school children. It will change the course of health in New Mexico by preventing illnesses in hundreds of thousands of New Mexicans. The legislation is sponsored in the New Mexico Senate by five Committee Chairmen and four Vice Committee Chairmen, and the only physician in the New Mexico Legislature. Excerpted from Stephen Fox New Millennium Fine Art Santa Fe, New Mexico Darwin Awards: Circular Reasoning Two twenty-eight-year-old construction workers, reportedly experienced in their work, fell one hundred feet after cutting a hole through thick concrete without realizing they were standing in the center of the circle. Neither was wearing a safety harness to arrest his eight-story plunge. Reference: The Times of London
Millions of Consumers Unite Last year, while the E.U. tested 10 million cattle for Mad Cow, the U.S. only tested 20,526 cows out of 35 million slaughtered. In response to this threat to food safety and consumer rights, the Organic Consumers Association (OCA) has launched a massive campaign to pressure the USDA into creating standards that emulate those of Japan and the EU. Every day, thousands of citizens are signing on to this important petition. Help the OCA in achieving its goal of gathering over a million petition signatures, demanding that the U.S. Government adopt and enforce: Mandatory testing for all cattle brought to slaughter, before they enter the food chain, ban the feeding of blood, manure, and slaughterhouse waste to animals. Please forward this to family and friends! Sign the petition here: http://organicconsumers.org/madcow.htm

Italian Man The elderly Italian man went to his parish priest and asked if the Priest would hear his confession. “Of course, my son,” said the priest. “Well, Father, at the beginning of World War Two, a beautiful woman knocked on my door and asked me to hide her from the Germans. I hid her in my attic, and they never found her.” “That’s a wonderful thing, my son, and nothing that you need to confess,” said the priest. “It’s worse, Father. I was weak, and told her that she had to pay for rent of the attic by giving me a little nookie now and then,” continued the old man. “Well, it was a very difficult time, and you took a large risk – you would have suffered terribly at their hands if the Germans had found you hiding her. I know that God, in his wisdom and mercy, will balance the good and the evil, and judge you kindly,” said the priest. “Thanks, Father,” said the old man. “That’s a load off of my mind. Can I ask another question?” “Of course, my son,” said the priest. The old man asked, “Do I have to tell her that the war is over?”
Humor Break Tribal Wisdom is not apparent in our federal government! The tribal wisdom of the Dakota Indians, passed on from generation to generation, says, “When you discover that you are riding a dead horse, the best strategy is to dismount.” However, in the Federal Govern-ment, more advanced strategies are often employed such as: 1. Buying a stronger whip. 2. Changing riders. 3. Appointing a committee to study the horse. 4. Arranging to visit other countries to see how other cultures ride dead horses. 5. Lowering the standards so that dead horses can be included. 6. Reclassifying the dead horse as “living impaired.” 7. Hiring outside contractors to ride the dead horse. 8. Harnessing several dead horses together to increase speed. 9. Providing additional funding and/or training to increase the dead horse’s performance. 10. Doing a productivity study to see if lighter riders would improve the dead horse’s performance. 11. Declaring that as the dead horse does not have to be fed, is less costly, and carries lower overhead, it, therefore, contributes substantially more to the bottom line of the economy than do some other horses. 12. Rewriting the expected performance requirements for all horses. 13. Promoting the dead horse to a supervisory position.
